The 1619 project in the NYT was praised and condemned when it was launched. I am of the latter opinion. We are not a racist nation, we are a nation where racists of all colors can spew their hate and contempt in public. Racism will be with us always, it is our responsibility to call it out in our daily lives to tamp it down as much as possible.
The author, NH-J, sent her child to a substandard public school to support “public education.” She could have sent her daughter to a charter school, which is a public school just not a government one. She laments the choice as her child suffered for NH-J’s virtue signaling.

Our K-12 system is one of the main causes for income inequality, the kids coming out of high school have not been prepared to enter the job market with the necessary skills to perform in today’s demanding job market.
The data is overwhelming. Let’s change the system.
