The SAVE Act vs. shoveling snow in NYC

The SAVE act appears to be going down in flames in the Senate because not enough democrats will vote for it, see language below. I am sure the 5:1 ratio of registered democrats to republicans in NYC are happy

Yet, per The Free Press “TGIF Friday” for today, the 27th you need 5-FIVE- forms of ID to shovel snow in NYC. The Free Press <bariweiss+tgif@substack.com>

Wait, I thought IDs were racist?: To register to shovel snow in Mamdani’s NYC, you have to present two forms of ID, plus a Social Security card.

What in the hell is this? Five forms of ID. I have no idea where half these are. Shoveling snow in New York is gatekept more ferociously than voting. Also, you missed a spot on my corner. Back to work, Josh Code.

The frogs in NYC will soon recognize they are being cooked for dinner. I will not wish bad things to happen but I do hope the negative consequences of a DSM city hall is not bailed out by me, a taxpayer to the US government. I can see it now, President AOC takes time out from bartending to sign an executive order providing taxpayer money to bail out NYC.

Montgomery County Maryland K-12 academic results versus red herring issues

I happened to read an article in National Review today, February 12th on the subject of ICE in schools, “Montgomery County PTA Hosts Anti-ICE Training, Urges Parents to Create ‘Safe Passage’ for Illegal Immigrants.”

From that article a council woman states, ‘“The level of trauma that our student body is facing from this crisis is hard to even wrap my mind around,” Mink said. “It’s a constant barrage. We are trying to get our kids to be successful academically through all of this. It’s an absolutely unfathomable timeline that we are living through right now.”

I looked up the testing results of Maryland schools and found the following, “This presentation summarizes the SY 2024-2025 ELA, mathematics, and science assessment results, including student group disaggregations and local education agency (LEA) summary data. Overall, results show increases across most student groups and assessments in SY 2024-2025 as compared to the prior year. • There was an increase in student proficiency in ELA and mathematics for all tests combined. In SY 2024-2025, 50.8% of Maryland students were proficient in ELA, up from 48.4% in SY 2023-2024. The proficiency rate in mathematics was 26.5%, as compared to 24.1% in the prior year. • Student proficiency in ELA and mathematics varied by test. Student proficiency in ELA ranged from 45.0% in ELA 5 to 59.5% in ELA 10. Variation was more pronounced for student proficiency in mathematics, from 8.7% in Math 8 to 42.0% in Math 3. • There were large variations in ELA and mathematics proficiency across LEAs. ELA proficiency varied from 31.2% to 68.5% across LEAs. Mathematics proficiency ranged from 10.1% to 47.7%.

Maybe the school board should look at why the K-12 systems can’t seem to educate their students to an appropriate level of proficiency instead of ranting about ICE. The NR article stated the only reason they would enter school grounds is to apprehend a target who took refuge there.

The priorities of teacher unions and those organizations in the same bubble do not feel accountable for results and continually demand more inputs.

I went to Junior High School in Montgomery County. The county income per household ranks in the top 20 of 65,000 counties in the nation. Get your priorities right!
